By far, the largest amount of water available are the polar ice caps! We see floods on land when mountain ice melts, so it only figures that polar ice melting would cause the ocean levels to rise. That's partly right. Of the two poles, only the Antarctic ice really matters, and only that which has come from the continental ice. The rest of the "iceberg" type ice has no effect on sea levels, whether it melts or grows. However, glacial ice will have an impact. The world's glaciers have been receding for decades--which probably accounts for as much as anything of the sea level rise. But now, Antarctica is joining the figures in a more noticeable way. Blessings, Green Cochoa.

From our window we see one of the many glaciers that are receding or disappearing. It was a beautiful mountain all year, but the snow cap is now smaller in the summer.

I listen a fair amount to a guy named Ben Davidson of Suspicious0bservers.org. He is adamantly against the idea of global warming. Yet, the ocean levels are probably two feet higher today than thirty years ago.
There just isn't any other explanation that I know of.
While ice melting would seem to increase sea levels, what I heard "predicted" probably a decade ago is that the sea levels were going to rise an inch in the next 100 years. And they felt that was dramatic. Could be, could not be. But the relevance here is you are saying something totally earth-shattering! Really?! Two feet in the last 30 years! That's simply amazing. I wonder why that's not in the news. Could you show where you got that?

Sure. Many glaciers are retreating. Here are a couple of sites that present the facts on this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retreat_of_glaciers_since_1850http://www.skepticalscience.com/himalayan-glaciers-growing.htmThat second site states two dominant factors in glacial retreat: 1) air temperature increase; and 2) reduced precipitation in the area of the glacier. I would like to pose a completely different reason, based on personal observation and some other reports I once saw regarding some of the glaciers in Europe: a change in the glacial surface, perhaps on account of wind. I have personally observed glaciers that are pocked with holes due to boulders, rocks, and gravel having been scattered upon their surface. The rocks, unlike the pure white snow that normally sits atop the glacier, reflecting the sun's rays and keeping it cool, heat up significantly in the sun, and melt the ice around them. The dark colors of the rocks, gravel, etc. that have blown upon the glacier change the overall level of heat at its surface, so that instead of melting mostly at the bottom under the crushing pressure of the weight of the ice, the glacier is melting almost as much at its surface, and fissures can be formed by the meltwater that further serve to break up the glacier and hasten its downward descent to warmer altitudes. (One has to have done some glacier climbing to fully appreciate some of these observations.) Blessings, Green Cochoa.

A huge tunnel has just been opened in one of our glaciers, Langjökull. Tourists are pouring in there to see the inside of a glacier. Come and see for yourself!
This past winter has been an exceptionally cold winter. Several of our mountain roads are still closed because the snow hasn't melted. So the climate might be getting colder again? Our temperatures are adusted not as much by the sun as by the currents that come our way from the Gulf of Mexico. We have had a number of years when it was much colder, then again periods with warmer climate. Hvo knows when we get a long cold period again? The scientist have not reached an agreement on that yet, reagardless of what you read on the net.

It's an intuitive art more than a concrete intelligence-based analysis of facts and data.
I guess that's not as unique position as I had thought... NOAA: Beaches full of dead baby sea lions off California, many aborted fetuses — Garbage bags filled with animals along coast — Carts in freezer overflowing with bodies — Official: Pollution may well have had an effect… We deliberately didn’t test for it I’m not at all sure whether pollution had an effect — it might well have — and one could certainly test that. I just wanted to state that we deliberately didn’t test all the possible variables.”
Sounds familiar, huh? Since they already know it's global warming, there's no point testing for pollution (and for sure not radiation!) and let facts and data get in the way of opinion.

I'll try to find that report, It was interesting because these people were Americans, and I think some Europeans, living on a small island. Even though their homes were about three hundred feet from the shore, that only represented about two feet in elevation. Well, now the water has risen to the point it's up to their homes and they will need to leave soon because their children were becoming scared. And yes, this was reported. This was made available to the public. I hope to get back soon.

There just isn't any other explanation that I know of. Is Ben Davidson also an alchemist? I visit fairly often the ocean where I grew up 75 years ago. The ocean is no higher at any points there now than where I remember it being when I went fishing to get food for my cat. I still see the same rocks there above sea level where I used to climb. True, some of the sand has drifted, but that does not affect the rocks. Some of the old piers have been removed, but the rocks remain.
