It's not often that it's good to be 2nd or 3rd in line. Just posted to say thanks guys for posting the current topic & especially the links, while I was busy elsewhere.
The topic title makes you wonder, why do SDA Pastors both young & old persist in focusing upon our corperate & individual spiritual conditions as SDA's ?
Here is a link to an older SDA Pastor Richard O'Fill's home page.

The sermon I am focusing on is this one.
http://www.revivalsermons.org/excuse.htm
I have not yet read or listened to the sermon from the young minister from Light Bearers Ministry. However I expect to see similiar trends.
Could it be that contemporary SDA worship & culture in the North American Division is not what God is looking for as the experience among us as a people.
Could there be a different SDA experience that God is seeking to develop and rebuild among us ?
Amos 3:7 says this.
7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
Could the declarations of the experience God is seeking to implant & rebuild among us, be found in the writtings of the prophets ?
Especially considering this statement in the book of Malachi.
Malachi 4:5-6
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
The time is just before the coming of the Lord Christ. It is called a dreadful day. Is that His first coming or Second?
The physical Hebrew nation was being called to prepare for judgement while they were still alive & move on into the reasons for judgement.
Seperate those and what needed seperating and destroy them and that.
Gether in those and what needed gethering and put them and those things to work in the imminent mission - gethering and training and baptizing and organizing the gentiles under that one safe faith; because wordwide falling away and polarization would soon bring persecution and inability to work for God.
Would such a 1st Century concept and faith and mission have a current counterpart ?
Would eyesalve, gold tried in the fire, white raiment from century 1AD be still essential now in the 21st century ?
After this I will click on the link & listen. If this post compliments that sermon I do not want anyone to suspect I borrowed from it. In healthcare patients and prospective patients get 1st & 2nd & third opinions and look for trends that agree and disagree, in order to decide to trust the physicians verdict and plan of care, to restore them. The sources of the opinions generally do not colaborate before hand the opinions are given.
God is the physician. Can His care plans be trusted enough to be used as they read ?
