This is a great idea!! How much french knowledge do you think would be required, or are you going to start at the very beginning basics? I haven't had french since grade school..... I'm not telling how far back that is now, suffice to say it's over 15 years!

Well, to be honest I'm not sure anymore! I used to be quite good at french, but am severely out of practice and I'm not sure how good grade 8 french qualifies! My other problem is that I tend to mix my languages. For example, I wanted to say: "Je sprechen sie Francais", but that is french and german mixed..... but I tend to do that when I cannot remember the right word in either language. Je ne parlaiz vous Francais, je parle Anglais. With practice, I'll probably remember more.

First, you'll need a french/english dictionnary!! And to correct your sentence.. <> Ok... To begining.. maybe we should start with easy words... and then move further.. I never gave "frech lessons""/// So you'll have to give me a chance!! What we could do is this... I could teach you stuff then give you like a quiz or something but you'd have to be honest and not lookk back... it's up to you~~ Tell me what ya think of my idea!!

I think it's a good idea too! I'm willing to be your guinea pig - just give me a few days to get that dictionary - the only one I have here is german/english! Thanks for volunteering to do this Chantale!

Try this online translation site: Essayez ce site en ligne de traduction: http://world.altavista.com/
I actually translated the English above into the French just below it using this site. [ December 30, 2001: Message edited by: Daryl Fawcett ]

I took 6 years of french in school and what I remember would fit into the palm of my hand. I do remember how to conjegate a verb though LOL. Plus it was formal french, not the stuff people actually speak. I was totally into anything french as a kid and I blame it on Dumas. He just had to write that book about musketeers and I just had to read it. Amelia

I am tired- je suis fatigué It's nothing don't worry about it. -Il n'est rien ne s'inquiètent pas à son sujet.- is not correct.. the correct answer is: Ce n`est rien, ne t'inquète pas. -Il n'est rien ne s'inquiètent pas à son sujet.--->this means: He is nothing, don't worry about him...
thought i'd correct your sentences

I studied french in school also, but hey that is more than ten years ago now so it would be great to revive the french - although nowadays I read more than do anything else as that's about all that I have any chance of doing!

Things have changed over the years.
Is there another volunteer to lead out in these French lessons?
