hi brother, the thought is more about Gods desire to be with us on that day in a special way than it is about our "obligation".

We aren't obligated to do anything, however, we are told to make a choice on whether or not to serve Him, which would impact on our response to His desire to be with us on that special day and every other day in a different way.
