This is the Memory Text:
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8, 9, NIV).
The fact that we are saved "through faith" makes our understanding of "faith" very important to our understanding of the ins and outs of salvation. The interesting addition of "it is the gift of God-not of works" makes our understanding of "faith" in relation to "works" even more important.

Sunday's section begins with the following question:Do we all have the same definition and understanding of faith? How do you both define and understand faith? i would think your questions are very good. it seems we all can have different pictures of other concepts, why not this one as well. i think you have some thoughts, would you like to share them? 
Psa 64:5 ...an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?
Psa 7:14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood. 15 He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made. 16 His mischief (and his violent dealing) shall return upon his own head.
Psa 7:17 I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.

Of course, we all probably are aware of the definition in Hebrews 1:11 which says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." how would this fit in? Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. we talk a lot about keeping the commandments of God and having the spirit of prophecy, but i have yet to hear much about the "faith of Jesus" except from the writings of ellen white. and yet, according to this, the people of God have both the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
