And for the person wanting a summary, well, thre's a lot to say in one paragraph. I took notes along the way- like 6 pages (handwritten).

Well, I did a bit of researching my notes and comparing musical definitions from my wife's music notes.


Isa 58:11-13 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Here is a little background on the BASICS of MUSIC.

A CLEF is a sign placed at the beginning of each staff, which tells you the exact pitch of one particular line…consists of five lines and four spaces.

KEY SIGNATURE is a group of one or more sharps or flats placed right after the clef sign.



A sign called time signature has two numbers, one above the other, is placed at the beginning of the music, right after the KEY signature (i.e. simple time such as two-four time, three-four time, four-four time).

Two-four time means the strong accent (beat) is on the first note of the measure (two-four means ¼ note is equal to one beat, and there are 2 beats in each measure, thus emphasis is on first ¼ note – like BOOM, bah (STRONG, weak)

Three-four time is STRONG, weak, weak!

Now there is a lot of information in Pastor Ivor Myers’ presentation BUT WHAT peaked my interest was his explanation of Daniel 7:25.
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

SDA’s have understood this to mean that the RCC would think to change the Sabbath from Seventh day to First day. And rightly so. BUT,look at this.

Satan was the chief musician in heaven before his expulsion, right?

Music consists of 3 parts: Melody, Harmony, and Rhythm.

Exo 15:1-2 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

Exo 15:2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary

Let us observe what Moses chiefly aims at in this song.
(1.) He gives glory to God, and triumphs in him; this is first in his intention (Exo_15:1): I will sing unto the Lord. Note, All our joy must terminate in God, and all our praises be offered up to him, the Father of lights and Father of mercies, for he hath triumphed.

Melody (Song) = God the Father
Harmony = Jesus, who brings together the human and the Divine
Rhythm – Holy Spirit which involves “movement”

Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

OK, Satan is an expert on music. How best to upset God’s order of music than to turn it upside down, and start with Rhythm instead of Melody.

Back to Daniel 7:25
“And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”

As previously mentioned, the devil changes the order of music. “Times” can also be interpreted as ‘two-time, three-time, etc.” Two- times as previously described emphasizes the beat on first note- STRONG, weak!

OK, two-four time also means something else. The quotation from Counsels to Parents, Teachers, and Students…10 commandments is a hedge (or barrier) around God’s people to protect them from Satan’s devices.

WHAT is Satan’s purpose? To break down the barriers and instead BRIDGE the world to the church. HOW does he do that?

Two-four time. The 2nd commandment says “thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images, etc.”

The 4th commandment says “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy…7th day is Sabbath of Lord thy God, etc.”

WHOA, I’ll bet YOU never thought of that before from Daniel 7:25.

There’s a lot more here that I can tell you, BUT YOU need to see the presentation for YOURSELVES.

I found the examples of the two signatures of music that he showed; one being God's signature mark and the other being the devil's signature mark.

In one example the song/music began with God's signature mark for the first 30 some seconds, but then transitioned into the devil's signature mark. The first part was used as a snare into the rest of the song/music.
