The Manhattan Declaration, issued Nov 20, 2009 and signed by many Protestant and Catholic church leaders, was reviewed by Elder Bohr in 2010 in one of his news letters. Bohr sees a movement to curtail religious freedoms by invoking the political power of civil authorities. I wonder though if Ellen White wouldn't have strongly endorsed much of the document and urged the church to support the same moral positions just as she did during the grass-roots but religiously based temperance movement that ultimately resulted in Prohibition.
