and more importantly, how do they get to that point and what will happen to them. The Holy Ghost is identified as part of the GodHead:
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Jesus says that all manner of 'sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men' except that one thing which man can do against the Holy Ghost which leaves him 'Unforgiven'.
Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
Matthew 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
So if people are given the truth of the Sabbath, and the Sanctuary, and 3 Angels message, and the the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit reveals it and gives understanding and they reject it are they placing themselves in danger of damnation. What exactly is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, how do you speak, think, or act in such a way as to bring this one unforgiveable trespass upon oneself?

If you sin knowingly and refuse to repent, that is unforgivable.

If you sin knowingly and refuse to repent, that is unforgivable. You seem to say that one is only forgiven after they have repented. I will suggest that Romans 5: 18 speaks to this issue.

Hi Gregory,
It is true that one must repent before they are forgiven. Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
When you see any indication of forgiveness it is always preceded by repentance, even though you may not read it. For example, I left the SDA church for 10 years and when I came back I never said the words I repent but my coming down to the front weeping at the Evangelistic series when a call was made revealed the evidence that I had repented. The Prodigal son repented even though some use a, what I call a cynical interpretation of that event to say he was forgiven and did not have to repent.
There's a false theory that's been around for some time that used the in "Christ Motif" and states that the world was in Christ and was forgiven when He died. Romans 5:18 is used out of context in this theory to prove that point.
Jesus said, Luke 13:2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
I'm not sure if it's permissible to post something from E G White but I will do it for the sake of clarity.
But while God can be just, and yet justify the sinner through the merits of Christ, no man can cover his soul with the garments of Christ’s righteousness while practicing known sins or neglecting known duties. God requires the entire surrender of the heart, before justification can take place; and in order for man to retain justification, there must be continual obedience, through active, living faith that works by love and purifies the soul. – {FW 100.1}
That sounds like "Legalism" as they say, but it is not and the reason God does this is so we can have complete assurance. If our salvation was based on our finding our that we have already been saved and all we have to do is accept it there will come a time when we will be sorely tested and that will not help us to stand. We will be agonizing to make sure all our sins have been forgiven during the time of trouble and the thing that will get us through is the fact that we will know that we have repented of all our sins!
So repentance is most beneficial for us. God will not forgive us until we repent so we can be prepared to receive the Holy Spirit.
What is written in Romans 5 is all in regards to the discussion Paul had in Romans 4 where he proves that justification comes by faith in Christ as opposed to justification by the works of the law i.e. circumcision. Many people read Romans 5:1 and say see we have been justified by faith and have peace with God, no repentance only faith. But if you read Ch 4 you'll understand that Paul is making a comparison to being justified by works of the law or faith. We are justified by faith and not the works of the law (circumcision). Paul does not mention repentance hear because he doesn't have to; it's not the issue, he knows that his readers understand that repentance precedes justification.
When Paul says, Rom 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
He is saying that we don't need to work in any way to be justified, no circumcision, no feast keeping none of the laws of Moses will justify us, neither will keeping the 10 Commandments justify us. That is what he means by grace. Instead of these works, we are justified by faith in the offering provided for our sins. He is not referring to repentance. I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Norman

I'm not sure if it's permissible to post something from E G White but I will do it for the sake of clarity. As a moderator here, I will say it's generally not only permissible, but encouraged. For clarity, you may indicate that the quote is from Mrs. White by putting it in a quote box (especially useful for longer quotes). You can do that by pasting your quote between quote tags like this: [quote=Ellen White] (Pasted content here) [/quote] It will then become.... Blessings, Green Cochoa.
We can receive of heaven's light only as we are willing to be emptied of self. We can discern the character of God, and accept Christ by faith, only as we consent to the bringing into captivity of every thought to the obedience of Christ. And to all who do this, the Holy Spirit is given without measure. In Christ "dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him." [Colossians 2:9, 10.] {GW 57.1} -- Ellen White.
