Why are we still here - we are here because we are not understanding the truth and so cannot represent God right. The truth about God and such things as 2nd death and judgment. The Gospel will go the the whole earth, then the end will come. How many of the SDAs will be in that number? 1 in 20? 1 in 100? Why such a low number if we have the truth?

I understand that you are calling some of us "pagan" I am not calling anyone anything. I'm calling the ideas of the 2nd death pagan. That God will raise the dead, then torture them, but only as long as they deserve, that is pagan. Yet, most here hold that belief. And it was this week my exposure to SDA theologian Carsten Johnsen which nailed the problem in my mind. This is the omega of apostacy. Kellogg's rebellion was subtle, that was the alpha. The omega is just like it, but also subtle. Listen to EGW - same though is in GC starting page 569. Here it is in 4SP It is Satan's constant effort to misrepresent the character of God, the nature of sin, and the real issues at stake in the great controversy. By his sophistry he blinds the minds of men, and secures them as his agents to war against God. By perverted conceptions of the divine attributes, heathen nations were led to believe human sacrifices necessary to secure the favor of Deity; and the most horrible cruelties have been perpetrated under the various forms of idolatry. The Romish Church, uniting the forms of paganism and Christianity, and in a similar manner misrepresenting the character of God, has resorted to practices no less cruel and revolting. In the days of Rome's supremacy there were instruments of torture to compel assent to her doctrines. There was the stake for those who would not concede to her claims. There were massacres on a scale that will never be known to mortals. Dignitaries of the church studied, under Satan their master, to invent means to cause the greatest possible torture, and not end the life of their victim. The infernal process was repeated to the utmost limit of human endurance, until nature gave up the struggle, and the sufferer hailed death as a sweet release. {4SP 385.2} So why are we still here? I think we know the answer now.

It is so important that we get a complete picture of God and why His treatment of sinners and saints affects His timing.
Cutting these truths down to fractures does no justice to God. What should be wrong with dealing with the total picture at the same time? What do we have to hide?
"Here is a last piece of advice. If you believe in goodness and if you value the approval of God, fix your minds on the things which are holy and right and pure and beautiful and good. Model your conduct on what you have learned from me, on what I have told you and shown you, and you will find the God of peace will be with you."

You are on the right track, however, there are more reasons why He hasn't come the 2nd time yet. What are those other reasons? We are still here because God's character has not yet been perfected in His people. "When the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come." Christ is waiting with longing desire for the manifestation of Himself in His church. When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own. {COL 69.1} Blessings, Green Cochoa.

Daryl,
We desperately need more missionaries. Will anyone here be encouraged to leave their comfort zones and go to the ends of the earth?
The Gospel Commission has yet to be fulfilled. Christ gave His disciples a very distinct commission. Who is following it?
The end will not come before the mission is complete.
Blessings,
Green Cochoa.
We can receive of heaven's light only as we are willing to be emptied of self. We can discern the character of God, and accept Christ by faith, only as we consent to the bringing into captivity of every thought to the obedience of Christ. And to all who do this, the Holy Spirit is given without measure. In Christ "dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him." [Colossians 2:9, 10.] {GW 57.1} -- Ellen White.

I believe that as SDAs we've pretty much heard enough truth to convert the world. The problem is that we are not applying the truth to our lives and we dilute it by word and example. This all leads to weakness and the inability to make disciples because we are to concerned about our own salvation, seeing we are not assured due to the above mentioned.
No one can make you upset unless you choose to be, otherwise you're a slave to all and everything that makes me mad

Can you elaborate further? I believe that as SDAs we've pretty much heard enough truth to convert the world.
