Ded- God's plan for Israel --
They were to be the light of the world.
And in many ways they were --
Christ, the Son of God, came to them establishing the kingdom of grace, and from Jerusalem that glorious message went out to the world.
But Jerusalem itself was left desolate because they rejected the kingdom of grace.

Again we notice you stop at verse two instead of allowing the context to flow to the end of the reference which is verse 4, which obviously did not happen back in your time prediction. Men did not stop learning war anymore.

Before we touch more upon your untenable position, let's review something that you are incorrect on as well, here are your words--

Ded- What I don't believe is that God will mysteriously cause all Adventists to suddenly die. He didn't do that to the Israel nation in the ancient days, and He won't do that now.

"When God was about to smite the first-born of Egypt, He commanded the Israelites to gather their children from among the Egyptians into their own dwellings and strike their door posts with blood, that the destroying angel might see it and pass over their homes. It was the work of parents to gather in their children. This is your work, this is my work, and the work of every mother who believes the truth.

The angel is to place a mark upon the forehead of all who are separated from sin and sinners, and the destroying angel will follow, to slay utterly both old and young." {5T 505.2

"Here we see that the church--the Lord's sanctuary--was the first to feel the stroke of the wrath of God.The ancient men, those to whom God had given great light and who had stood as guardians of the
spiritual interests of the people, had betrayed their trust. They had taken the position that we need not look for miracles and the marked manifestation of God's power as in former days. Times have changed.

These words strengthen their unbelief, and they say: The Lord will not do good, neither will He do evil. He is too merciful to visit His people in judgment. Thus "Peace and safety" is the cry from men who will never again lift up their voice like a trumpet to show God's people their transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins. These dumb dogs that would not bark are the ones who feel the just vengeance of an offended God. Men, maidens, and little children all perish together. {5T 211.2}

What I don't believe is that God will mysteriously cause all Adventists to suddenly die. He didn't do that to the Israel nation in the ancient days, and He won't do that now.

First off you took that sentence out of the context in which I wrote it, so you could place your own interpretations on my words.

As to the quotes --
What are those passages saying?

In 5T 505
EGW is writing to a mother who chose to send her daughter to a worldly school--
"where she will be associated with a worldly class who have no respect for God or His law, I ask you how you expect the Lord will work to counteract the evil influence that must surround her and which you have voluntarily chosen. Will He commission His angels to do the work which He has left for you to do?"

Then she refers to the plague in Egypt -- "God commanded the Israelites to gather their children from among the Egyptians into their own dwellings and strike their door posts with blood"

She continues by urging the mother to place her daughter in a situation where she will be influenced in spiritual things or she will be lost for eternity.

Next we come to the strawman that you built by taking my sentence out of the context in which it was written
implying that I am teaching that God will not judge.
But if you read it in context you should realize that is false.

There will be a judgment.
Those who are established in Christ, under the blood of His salvation, and walking with Him in paths of righteousness will be citizens of the HEAVENLY Jerusalem forever; while those who looked to human sources offering peace and pleasure and power will find themselves deceived and turn on their false leaders and all end up loosing not just this life, but life eternal.

-----

But now back to the first statement.

How was literal Israel destroyed in times past?

Over and over we see prophets warning them God would bring destruction upon them because of their sins.
There are many texts like this one:
Amos 2:3 "And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith the LORD."

But how did it happen?

It was by armies of other nations coming in to conquer and destroy.

And so it will be in the end.
The Ezekiel 9 latter day fulfilment will occur during the last plague when the deceived people, realizing they are lost will turn on the false shepherds. Indeed those leaders at the "sanctuary" will receive the first blow.
EGW explains her own words in GC 656.

Also at Christ's second coming all those who are not sealed by the Holy Spirit and gathered to meet Christ in the air, will be destroyed by the brightness of his coming.

The message that comes through loud and clear in her writing is that we need to gather under the saving blood of Christ NOW, today. We need to take our faith in Christ seriously today, now! We need to witness now, today.

The sealing in our foreheads is NOT
--old Jerusalem with a human king--

The sealing in our foreheads is

Rev. 3:12 I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

The sealing is a settling into truth so we won't be moved by promises of counterfeit earthly kingdoms, solutions, power and peace.

"Just as soon as the people of God are sealed in their foreheads--it is not any seal or mark that can be seen, but a settling into the truth, both intellectually and spiritually, so they cannot be moved--just as soon as God's people are sealed and prepared for the shaking, it will come.4BC 1161

And that shaking involves multitudes LEAVING the Adventist church, including many in influential leadership positions, to join earthly counterfeit "kingdoms" that seem to be offering solutions but aren't in line with God's will -- .

Not necessarily SR version -- however the SR message is undermining a foundational brick of Adventism and casting doubts in some Adventist people's minds which is preparing them to receive a counterfeit supposedly "righteous" "kingdom" here on earth.

But many will also hear and accept the truth and commit themselves fully to Christ and His precepts, (and not look to any earthly solution or kingdom, but wait for the coming of Christ in the clouds)

HUH???
I think you stopped reading at verse two as I went through the whole chapter of Isaiah Two.

Quote:
Here is the complete context of Inspiration --

Isaiah 2:1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

As we noted, this is concerning Judah and Jerusalem (in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah vs. 1:1)

2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days,
Shown several times now -- the "last days" of Judah and Jerusalem's time of probation -- ie -- the 490 years.

“The time is fulfilled, the kingdom of God is at hand,” had been their message. At the expiration of “the time”—the sixty-nine weeks of Daniel 9, which were to extend to the Messiah, “the Anointed One”—Christ had received the anointing of the Spirit, after his baptism by John in Jordan. And the “kingdom of God” which they had declared to be at hand, was established by the death of Christ. GC 346

that] the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it

“Christ's work was largely confined to Judea. But though his personal ministry did not extend to other lands, people from all nations listened to his teaching, and carried the message to all parts of the world. Many heard of Jesus by hearing of the wonderful miracles that he performed. And the knowledge of his suffering and death, which were to be witnessed by the large number in attendance at the Passover, would be spread from Jerusalem to all parts of the world. (RH Oct. 26,1897)

God's plan for Israel --
They were to be the light of the world.
And in many ways they were --
Christ, the Son of God, came to them establishing the kingdom of grace, and from Jerusalem that glorious message went out to the world.
But Jerusalem itself was left desolate because they rejected the kingdom of grace.

But now to the "last days" of our history.

Jerusalem itself was left desolate because they rejected the kingdom of grace, wanting only a kingdom of honor over nations.

In the "last days" of our history, things haven't changed, people still want a temporal kingdom rather than the kingdom of grace.

Here are the two almost identical passages under discussion:

Isaiah 2:2- "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord."

and

Micah 4:1-5.
"But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks; nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig-tree; and none shall make them afraid; for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken it. For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever."

Who is it that shall say these things?—

"Many nations [Isa. "Many people"]

So who is saying these things exactly?
Is it God, or is it "many nations" and "many people"?

In the last days then many people shall say that "the law shall go forth of Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem." In the last days many people shall say, The nations "shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning-hooks." In the last days many people shall say that "nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more."

In the last days many people shall say, "they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig-tree; and none shall make them afraid." And, too, they will say that "the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it." All these things many people will say in the last days.

Apparently, these prophets are predicting the counterfeit establishment of Christianity over the nations.

God's purposes will be counterfeited.
How do we come to such a conclusion?
Well, yes, read the CONTEXT!

First, these scripture do not say that people will actually walk in the law of the Lord, but that "many people shall go and say" that certain things shall take place. They will say it is what God said.

They establish "Christianity" over the mountains and hills -- that is taking control over governments and religion.
It is the political/religious counterfeit mountain in the name of the Lord.

That this national Christianity will be only a sham, an outward thing, and not the real kingdom of grace established by Christ, is indicated by the next four verses, which say:-

"Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers. Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots; their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made; and the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself; therefore forgive them not." Isaiah 2:6-9

THEREFORE --

What is that "therefore" at the beginning of verse six, referring back to --
It's referring back to the verses where the PEOPLE are saying all these wonderful things!!!

So why does this say

Therefore?
Therefore thou (referring to God) hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob???

These verses show that while the people profess that they know God, in works they deny him. They will be worshiping something of their own creation.

In a counterfeit establishment of worship -- the standard of what true Christianity is, is lowered, until it comes down to where the mass of the people are, and then they "worship" thinking they are "saving the world" by flowing into this established Christianity that has set itself above all "mountains" and "hills".

And what will be the final result?

The prophet Isaiah continues:
"Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty. The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low." "And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he arised to shake terribly the earth. In the day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; to go into the clefs of the ragged rocks, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake the terrible the earth." Isa. 2:10-12, 19-21.

This corresponds to
The second coming --
Rev. 6:14-16 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

In that day of the Lord the earth shall be melted (2 Peter 3:10, 11; Isa. 24:19, 20), and sinners shall be destroyed out of it; "nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness." 2 Peter 2:13.

And when the earth is cleansed, then will be fulfilled the word of the Lord which is written: "And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord; for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them" (Jer. 31:34); for "all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children." Isa. 54:13.

Let us look at Isaiah 2:2-4 once again--

Verse 2--"And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it."

Verse 3
-"And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem."

Verse 4-
(Verse 4)"And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more."

As we have seen Dedication says the following--
1) The first and primary application of this Scripture is the end of the 490 years.
2) there is a second application of this scripture in the "new earth" period.

Now who among us can believe this? Really. if this is not false private interpretation I do not know what is!

First, the context of the verse show that this is fulfilled when the Lord shall make nations not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they "learn war any more."

No matter how much spin and private interpretation she tries to put on this Scripture , it cannot apply even to this day! Why? because as we see the Lord has not put an end to war among the nations!

Ah, but she comes back and says. "But this means the new earth". yet she has continually NOT provided any Scripture or SOP to show that the "last days" describes the --new earth. There is NO Scripture, nor SOP, in ALL of Inspiration that shows this.

******* STAFF EDIT *******

The word of God is plain. he will establish His house "from Jerusalem" where His "Law" will go out and "many nations shall come" to His house in Jerusalem, and nations will not "learn war any more."

My brethren this can only be --pre-millennial, the time of the Loud Cry. Most notably because Inspiration says it is in the "last days". These days cannot be the end of 490 years as Dedication spins it, neither the "new earth".

If that is only my interpretation (which it isn't)and all the wonderful promises of "no war, no tears, no more destruction etc. will not be fulfilled in the New Earth, then all our hope is DEAD.

But praise God -- it is not just my interpretation -- it is the truth found in the New Testament and in EGW's writings.

This is the explanation of the rest of Isaiah two.
Which is NOT my explanation
It was taught during all the years that EGW was alive, and not just by one or two, but you can find quite a number of SDA pioneers teaching it over the years.

I've already posted it several times.

This is chapter is actually a warning of the COUNTERFEIT kingdom!

In the "last days" of our history, things haven't changed, people still want a temporal kingdom rather than the kingdom of grace.

Here are the two almost identical passages under discussion -- and please pay close attention as to WHO is talking.
GLL says it is God talking, but look again.

Quote:

OKAY WHO IS TALKING?

Who is it that shall say these things?—

We read:
many people shall go and say....we will...let us....

Many nations shall go and say ...we will...we will...

Notice it even includes the ecumenical concept of diversity of "gods" and that all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the Lord our God.

This is the people talking about creating the utopic counterfeit kingdom in which they expect to end war and bring in peace.

God's purposes will be counterfeited.
How do we come to such a conclusion?
Well, yes, read the CONTEXT!

From a sermon preached in 1888 by Waggonner

"For when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them."

This refers to a time when men will not simply be predicting peace and safety, but will proclaim that it has actually come. For many years men have been teaching that a temporal millennium of perfect peace and righteousness would precede the coming of the Lord.
The members of the National Reform Association say that when Christianity is recognized and enforced by law, then the millennium will have come, and that wars, famines, and pestilence will cease.
In the National Reform Convention held at Monmouth, Ill., Sept. 29, 1884, and reported in the Christian Statesman of November 6, M. A. Gault said:- {December 7, 1888 EJW, SITI 747.3}
"We do not flatter ourselves when we say that the glorious millennial day will be ushered in by the triumph of this movement." {December 7, 1888 EJW, SITI 747.4}

So when they shall have gained their object, the Scripture will be fulfilled, which says: "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." Isa. 2:2-4.

Thus they will be saying, "Peace and safety," and then suddenly, like a thief in the night, when they are unprepared, destruction from the Almighty shall come upon them. Read the remainder of Isaiah 2. {December 7, 1888 EJW, SITI 747.5}

Ded- OKAY WHO IS TALKING?

Who is it that shall say these things?—

We read:
many people shall go and say....we will...let us....

Many nations shall go and say ...we will...we will...

So who is saying these things exactly?

Is it God, or is it "many nations" and "many people"?

Ded- In the last days then many people shall say that "the law shall go forth of Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem." In the last days many people shall say, The nations "shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning-hooks." In the last days many people shall say that "nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more."

The underlined part is a falsehood by you, Dedication. The people do not say this--read your Bible. YOU say they say that but they are not quoted there as you have done.

People read the Scripture NOT Dedication's spin on them.

Read your Bible. The King James version shows the people saying"Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths." -- END OF QUOTE.

The people do not speak the rest of the Scripture as you claim they do. The words "For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word from Jerusalem." and-- "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore" -- Is not spoken by the "people" rather by God through Isaiah.

And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law.

Scripture says "many people shall go and say......

Besides it's not my interpretation --
You'll find it all through Adventist teachings.

God's intended place for the nation of Israel was that they be the light to world, the nation showing forth the law of God.

God keep His promise for the scripture was fulfilled at Christ's first Advent to which everything pointed -- the gospel did go forth from Jerusalem. Acts 2:5 does show that people from every nation under heaven were in Jerusalem as the Holy Spirit was poured out and the message was preached with power.

But the promises of national blessings were conditional and thus could not be placed upon the nation.

However, like with natural Israel at the time of Moses, the promises will now be counterfeited, but it is not of God.

Israel was to go into the promised land but failed,
Then they decided to go in on their own strength and disaster resulted.

To go to Palestine thinking it is God's will, is doing exactly what they did back then and it will result in disaster.

The land is declared "desolate" until the consummation. (Dan.9)
But many people, many nations will say -- let's go

Yes, read the entire chapter -- it is NOT God speaking
