The italics worked fine, but, the time out for editing did not. After just a few seconds, it wouldn't let me edit the post I used for my test.

Testing testing testing testing
Yes it does work now even when I'm editing and previewing the post, but it didn't yesterday and also a few days back. I had some post that were posted where the italic text were blanked out, but now I see the italic text. Looks like some magical thing has just happened??? or a virus in my computer that got removed when I rebooted it???
