I would really appreciate your prayers. Life is full of decisions, but I have never had to make one that has caused me so much anguish. My husband's illness has progressed to the point where nursing home care is coming up soon, for his own safety as well as other factors. It is heartbreaking and I just want to procrastinate. (I have been doing that for some time.) I would be thankful if you would pray for me that I will be sensitive to the Lord's will in this. I am so thankful for children that are being so supportive.

Dear Sr. Jan,
This is surely a difficult time, and my prayers are with you.
With Christian love, Cheri Fritz

Have you considered a live in care taker/nurse instead of a "home"? Or a retiremnet village so you both could be together? I will left you both up in prayer,

Thanks for your prayers Phil, I really appreciate them. A live in caretaker would have been ideal. That's how the Reagans managed. But most of us could never finance it. With brain disease, specialized care is needed anyway after a certain point, or the patient can become a danger to himself and others. The doctors are telling me that now is the time, for him and me; since it is a 24 hr. day job, and I have been sleeping very little for a long time, my own health is in danger. I know that he is in God's hands, he spent his life serving the Lord and his faith in God will be the last thing to go from his mind. I feel so sorry for people who have to watch this happening to a loved one and not believe in salvation and the resurrection, I can't imagine how they bear it.

And thank you, Cheri, for your comforting words and prayers. It is hard to watch your closest friend as well as husband become pretty much another person, but I do believe that one day he will be better than ever! We have so much to hope for.

Jan, this same thing happened to my mother recently with my father. It got to the point where she could not care for him. He was a very large man and my mother quite small--physically she could not continue to care for him.
My father had Parkinsons with some dementia. My mother had him admitted to the hospital and from there taken to a nursing home. Otherwise he would hever have gone. Instead he had no choice.
It was the best for the family and we made sure he was taken care of well. We visited him often and my mother stayed with him as much as possible.
I will be praying for you. It is hard to face something like this.
