Kland, I said she would "sleep in peace". I don’t blame you for being obtuse, but at least attempt to show some sensitivety.
James, "by their fruits ye shall know them". "If ye love me, keep my commandments". I know, you feel your mission on this site is to attack Adventists whenever possible; however, your vulgar displays of insensitivity only serve to manifest the satanic spirit that guides you.
Kland and James, you have both taken the death of a sweet lady, and my words of fond remembrance, loss, and hope, as an opportunity for aggression. Although, your responses were to be expected from two individuals so bereft of fruit, your words still caused me pain and made me feel sadder and more alone. I suppose, I should thank you both for reminding me to put my faith in no man. To God alone will I cling.
"...I will not forget you. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands..."
Isaiah 49:15-16

James, to you believe those who are saved, do not keep the commandments of God? Nobody keeps the commandments of God to perfection. Jesus said so.He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee (aka SDA) and the other a tax collector (aka Ordinary Man). The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.'And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!'I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”--- Jesus Christ, Luke 18:9-14 ************************************* If no one is righteous, then where is the boast of the Pharisee ( aka SDA)? Rather, the evidence of love among the believers is what matters. 1 Corinthians 13 ///

James, do you believe those who are saved, should have as a goal, or as a result of being saved, of keeping the commandments of God?
Do you believe the tax collector had as a goal to stop sinning?

Do you believe the tax collector had as a goal to stop sinning? OF COURSE!Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, " Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." John 8:11. And of Himself, He said, " He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him." John 8:29. However, knowing human nature, and the state into which we have fallen, John encourages us this way, " My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world." 1 John 2:1-2 It is that sense of weakness in ourselves, the realization of our own frailty, that checks our indignation when we're tempted to raise our voices in condemnation. Paul expresses it beautifully this way: " We do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but [ONE -- Jesus Christ, The Righteous, who] was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Heb. 4:15-16. Our goal is NOT self-righteousness -- nirvana that will elude us to the day we die -- but mercy and grace from our God; and freely we receive, we as freely give.///

So if we should have a goal of stop sinning, how does that affect our daily lives?

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Heb. 4:15-16. As Paul cries, " O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God — through Jesus Christ our Lord!" Rom. 7:24-25. Our goal is NOT self-righteousness -- nirvana that will elude us to the day we die -- but mercy and grace from our God; and freely we receive, we as freely give.///

It sounds like you are saying to have a goal of stop sinning is the same as self-righteousness? That we should not worry about sinning?
