Happy Sabbath everyone!Today is also Remembrance Day here in Canada and Veteran's Day in the USA. It is also one of those rare days that, here in Canada, the stores are closed giving a lot of people an imposed Sabbath rest from work. This is the day when the people of Canada and the USA will respectfullt remember the sacrifice of many, many soldiers during World Wars I and II and a few other succeeding wars that resulted in our being free today. I find this to be particularly true of World War II as it could very well have gone the other way. Bible prophecy, however, wouldn't permit that to happen. Praise the Lord!!! We also and most particularly need to remember what the Commander of the hosts of heaven did for us. He came and gave His life that we may have freedom from sin. We also need to remember the many Christian soldiers who gave their lives in defense of the faith. This war, whch began in the Garden of Eden, is still raging on. Satan is, however, a defeated foe still fighting to the end in an attempt to take as many people with him into the Lake of Fire. Satan is still going around as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. As long as we wear the Christian armour, we will be immune from his fiery darts. Let us, therefore, remember what Christ did for us and what many other Christian soldiers did in being faithful unto death to the cause of Christ, lest we forget. __________________________ In His Love, Mercy & Grace Daryl

Here in the States it is an excuse to 'remember' vets without it costing anything. They need to remember all those that came back with wounds, mental as well as physical. I think it odd, they will spend money on a parade or some other form of observence for a dead man, but have a fit if a live one needs something. Can't speak for Canada, but, here in the US, they have an appalling record of treatment of veterans. I know, I'm one of the live ones. Should it give me comfort to know one day they will put a little flag on my grave, and then fire a salute? It doesn't. I don't mean to take anything away from my fallem comrades, just don't appreciate the irony of it all, I guess.

Gerry, How does it sound ? Instead of parades and flags - we work to get eternal life into the reach of as many surviving vets & family members as possible. Life is what they fought for & freedom. Life & freedom become grim with the ravages of age & disease. Jesus has the cure for the ravages of age & disease and Reveille with the best trumpet ever. Talk about reveille, now He can belt it our better than anybody. Just think when He sounds "CHARGE". The real WW-3 is soon and General Holy Ghost is in the front tank. Commander in Chief Jesus declares " I SHALL RETURN " !!! I like the idea, how about you. Lets talk about logistics & strategy. That's my real whiskers. Sorry about my tirade. I came home in Dec. of 1969, I wasn't sent to Vietnam because they gave me soul surviving son status, because of it, the Vietnam Vets gave me a lot of grief, I wsn't a real vet 'cause I never saw combat. I spent 3 years in Deutschland. I caught it from all the protesters because I didn't burn my draft card ( I volunteered) and was called a child killer because I wore a uniform. Every time I tried to get some of the benefits I was supposed to have as a vet, I was told that because the problems weren't service oriented, I didn't 'qualify' for help. That is why I went off like I did. As far as I am concerned, Veterans Day is just another excuse for federal and state employees to have another day off with pay. Maybe I have some healing of my own to do as well. I thought I was doing the right thing when I entered the Military, but ylou sure wouldn't have known it by the treatment I got when I returned home. Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now.

CP made me 4-F. Good Sense made me not want to get shot & maimed or killed. I understand your feelings. A lot of my friends came home in body bags. Vietnam was much more confused morally than WW-2. ------------------ Edward F. Sutton
