That guy is ignoring some additional factors and is even off on some of his mathematical logic. For example, just because the body will fully absorb 200 mg. of vitamin C taken per day does not make that the ultimate level for dosage. The body has feedback mechanisms in place to help put everything in balance, and it is a little bit, perhaps, like charging a capacitor: if you have a completely empty capacitor, it will take the full amperage of the electrical current charging it. Once it is half full, it will draw much less amperage--does this mean that the capacitor is "too full" already? Hardly. It simply takes it longer to top up the last half than it did the first half. The same principle applies to a battery. If you charge your battery without a modern "smart" charger, from having been completely dead, it will charge quickly at first--as it hungrily soaks up the amperage. As it fills, it is less hungry. Should you, then, unplug the charger as soon as you notice that it is not taking so much current? Of course not.

When the vitamin C dosage was increased to around 1300 mg. per day, according to the video, the body accepted 46% of it. That means that the body accepted over 500 mg., which puts 200 mg. as only 40% of what the body felt it could use when given more. The body is complicated. The math is more nuanced than the video would suggest. The gentleman appears not to have thought things through carefully.

Vitamin C has other reasons, too, why it may be especially helpful, given in high dosages, for fighting cancer, viruses, or other diseases. The acidity of the vitamin changes the chemistry of the blood, which has a similar effect on the immune response and/or the viability of the disease as spiking a fever might have. This effect has little to do with the vitamin C itself, and more to do with the oxidative and pH factors of the blood. A doctor once explained this to me, but I have forgotten the details, so there may be a clearer description of this you might find.

I still think that the fact a goat regularly makes 13,000 mg. of vitamin C every day (in its liver), which can go up to 27,000 if the goat is a little stressed, and case reports have indicated as much as 100,000 mg. in a single day for an extra-stressed goat, tells us that vitamin C is not nearly so much to be feared, even in so-called mega-doses, as many seem to think. Unfortunately, humans don't make vitamin C like many (most?/all?--I don't know) other mammals do.
