This is a true story, from the Reader’s Digest May 2001 issue, submitted by Jean Connell. Ms Connell writes:
In a hurry to deliver her cupcakes to the school bake sale, my sister JoAnn went to her storage area and quickly grabbed the lid to an old cardboard gift box to carry the goodies. At the end of the sale, she was dismayed that almost everything else had been sold except her cupcakes.
Puzzled and a bit hurt, JoAnn returned home, transferred the cupcakes to a plate, and was on her way to return the cardboard lid to the shelf when she noticed neatly printed on the side of it in her own clearly legible handwriting: “Kitty’s Litter Box.”
