If you've noticed some of the dates on the threads in Maritime Online, a pattern seems to be emerging. We talk about something and it happens. A few months ago Earthquakes were mention (Washington State in particular) and hours later a tremblor hit Washington.

Lately in the End-time forum we were discussing Anthrax a couple of weeks before it became the talk of the world.

There were also West-Nile Virus discussions months before almost 100 birds were found with the disease in Ontario alone.

If this is a trend--OK let me be the first to ask for your prayers for something positive--that we get a full church on the first night of our Leamington Evangelistic Seminar on November 2. Let's talk about the success of those meetings to the glory of God--and pray that the trend continues.

Here's a freakish thing: a couple of months ago, my husband had a dream that the pope visited him on a bus. He asked what the pope was doing on the bus and he told my husband that he had to let him know that in November there would be a new pope. Now, my husband has never claimed to be prophetic, but it will be interesting to see what happens in November, huh? It's getting closer and as each day passes, I get more and more curious. Well, I just wanted to tell all about that, and we shall see what will happen. God bless you all!

Let's see perhaps Pastor Andrew Marttinen, goes to the Medical Missionary Forum and starts reading in the forums & copies from the technical skills thread & starts training his Church members with them. They research "Medical Missionary" from the members with an EGW CD Rom disk. They decide to start a new SDA Church near by and in the process move some members of the present church & convert enough new people to double the ones that moved. The new group grows into an equal size church in six months.

Ok there's the positive prognostications.

The negative - prognostications - new diseases start showing up as weapons, and natural disasters start hitting. Iraq is found to be the brains & hands using bio-weapons in USA & Canada. Is that vague enough for pulp rag headlines.

I'm just a little bit edgy about "tempting" events to happen by saying something. My "Charismatic" mother-in-law uses Matthew 12 (every word will be brought to account) to warn about giving voice to certian things.

For instance, the leader of a Sudbury mine tour said "There's no danger of earthquakes to miners because Creighton fault hasn't been active in 7 million years." The next week there were 3.9 and 3.4 seismic events on that very fault that rocked all of Sudbury, Ontario.

The same principle seems to hold true of people who gossip about others--they soon find the same problems happening in their own lives.

There's an old Irish proverb (I got it from my old Irish grandfather )that says:
Be careful for what you ask, you just might acquire it.

Another thought that comes to mind is this, what you think on becomes what you are.
If you dwell on the negative, you will reap it.

As to whether or no what this thread is about is superstition, I don't think so, it just might be the Lord's way of preparing us for what is coming.
Or it all could just be a big coincidence.

Each of Jesus' parables contain an element of irony. That method to "teaching" could be what we're noticing with world events.

The negative prognostications were easy enough to figure out & post beforehand.

But the positive ones are more effort to develop & train & use, but have much better dividends. Br Andrew have you went here yet & copied & trained folks with it ?
