July 2024 we got a glimpse of just how easily, and how quickly the world can be thrown into chaos. Just a bug in an update Microsoft software - one little error in one program of one company. And airlines had to cancel flights, health care systems, banks and scores of other businesses and services around the world were disrupted. Planes were grounded, health-care systems across the globe were crippled, hospitals ended up canceling noncritical surgeries and complicating emergency response systems, hospital record systems were made unusable and some banks were temporarily paralyzed.

"The outage was attributed to a software update issued by CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity firm whose software is used by myriad industries around the world. It was not a security incident or cyberattack, it was a simple bug in a software update.
Yes, a fix has been sent out, it is being implemented and bringing slow recovery but it could take some time to fully put it in place and get everything running smoothly again.


But what a stunning example of the global economy?s fragile dependence on certain software, and very real possible proportions of disruption with the cascading effect any glitch in our computer controlled world, can have on all systems, health care, banks, business and services around the world, when things go wrong.

Think people will stop using Microsoft?
This is a sad world when you can't do business because the computer is down. Can't track you and they got to do that.
But I expect something else is up.

It seems today's incident of a "bug" in a Microsoft update, was probably a mistake or accident. But then, on the other hand, maybe it was an experiment to see what would happen, how far the ripples would go? I don't know. But it just shows how easy it would be for our whole society to descend into chaos!

But what caught my attention in your comment is the part about tracking. Loosing their ability to track.
Maybe we look too much on the negative side, just think, of the positive result if, in the last crises, the powers that be can suddenly no longer track anyone when God defeats their schemes.

Yes, I have often thought that's how it will happen, is either sun spots, or electrical grid meltdown, or otherwise all the computers and phones go offline, or fear of the wild animals will disable their search and destroy mission. But that's only at the end. There will be trouble and terror before that time. But terror is internal to the individual, so maybe a better word would be terrorist activities.
