John quoted one of my standbys - 1 cor 10:13 the other is Mark 13:11.
And when they bring you to trial and delivery you up, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say; but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak but the Holy Spirit.. . .verse 13 But he who endures to the end will be saved.
Being brought up SDA I have always been conscious of the "time of trouble" and expected tribulations to come to each of us in the last days. With that comes the fear that it will be too hard or "they" will trip me up and I will fail the test. So this verse gives me the complete peace that the Holy Spirit will do the worrying for me and I can just but all my trust in Jesus, so I can endure to the end.
This promise not only is useful for the future but when a conversation comes up the Holy Spirit prompts me to make comments that I hadn't even considered before. - just a vessel for God.

I remember in the Bible when Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey with humility, but in direct contrast I know that Jesus will come as conqueror. One of my favorite passages of Scripture is Revelation 19:11-16 quote:
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes [were] as a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Words fail me when trying to describe what goes through my mind as I read these verses, but Praise His Name! We are on the winning side, and this is without even seeing Him, but by faith we believe in Him and trust fully in Him.
God Bless, Will
