Satan can imitate Christ. He will personate the second coming of Jesus and deceive, if possible, even the very elect. Satan appears as an angel of light. He blesses and heals and enlightens. But the fruit of believing in his counterfeit is unrest.
GC 532 But what did Adam, after his sin, find to be the meaning of the words, "In the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die"? Did he find them to mean, as Satan had led him to believe, that he was to be ushered into a more exalted state of existence? Then indeed there was great good to be gained by transgression, and Satan was proved to be a benefactor of the race. But Adam did not find this to be the meaning of the divine sentence. {GC 532.2}
GC 552 He has power to bring before men the appearance of their departed friends. The counterfeit is perfect; the familiar look, the words, the tone, are reproduced with marvelous distinctness. Many are comforted with the assurance that their loved ones are enjoying the bliss of heaven, and without suspicion of danger, they give ear "to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils." {GC 552.1}
GC 589 Through spiritualism, Satan appears as a benefactor of the race, healing the diseases of the people, and professing to present a new and more exalted system of religious faith; but at the same time he works as a destroyer. {GC 589.1}
The evidence that Jesus is not an imposter, is not an impotent god, is seen in the changed lives of those who love and serve Him. "Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God." (Isa 43:12)

quote: The evidence that Jesus is not an imposter, is not an impotent god, is seen in the changed lives of those who love and serve Him. "Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God."
And so we, that are so changed have a wonderful living story to tell; the wonderful love of God and his glory which lighted our eyes. Our heavenly father cares for you and me and that is wonderful news. He is not out to find fault, but to heal and make whole. Thus he saves from the wretched righteousness of sin which kills and makes us children of the highest. What wonderful news for us, that God is not what Satan painted him to be!
Certainly the truth about God is such good news; it sets us free from the law of sin and death. So the good news is the truth about God, but that truth sets us free from the fear which sin brought in, so that we may come to God and be made whole. This truth was first revealed to us in Christ.
