Good day,
I'm Marcel de Groot of the Parow congregation. Like most South African congregation we are fairly small. The church is in a middle class neighbourhood of a town named after a German ship's captain that has existed since the late 19th century.
The church itself has been in use since 1967 and I attended it until 1976 when I went to Helderberg College. Two other congregations were formed by Parow members and other SDA's, both having grown to a bigger membership than Parow. They are the Tygerberg and Bracknefell (of which I was a founder member) congregations. After a number of years I returned to Parow in early 1999.
We are a friendly, relaxed congregation with a fairly even spread of age groups. The oldest member is a 92 year old lady who is still very active. The main language is Afrikaans and most members are white although there are a number of coloured members. We don't have any black members due to language differences.
We have a satelite dish (as do many of the South African churches)which is handy to keep us connected with the worldwide SDA communication network. There is no website up and running yet but there is talk about getting it going. I'll be sure to suggest that it be made available in English as well.
Although our church building is quite a modern design, it has a slightly shabby appearance as it needs some maintenance. Funds are always a problem as I suppose is the case in most countries.
I will post a web site address as soon as one is available.
Christian regards.
Marcel

Welcome, Marcel, to Maritime SDA OnLine! Also, thank you for telling us about your local church. We look forward to your church eventually having a web site of its own.

Does your church have a web site? If yes, please post the link to your church here. If no, then please tell us something about your church.

Like today it is not correct at all..still in June. Sacramento Seventh-day Adventist Church I think that maybe the following two links are more active of the work of Sacramneto Church. Hi there friends! I am an active member of the Moncton, New Brunswick SDA Church. Our web site is www.7thday.netWe have had a Seventh day Adventist church in Moncton since 1892, where we met at the "Free Meeting House" (the actual building is a living museum today!) We hold a Sabbath meeting there on Heritage Sabbath every few years. (hopefully each year) The Moncton Heritage society donated the actual pulpit that was used in the Free Meeting house from 1892 and it is now on display at the back of our Salisbury Road church. Some Sabbaths we use it as the main pulpit.

Yes, I have been on the Nominating Committee of our church. It was one of the more interesting ones that I have been on.
