quote: Christian Book Sales Soaring Across U.S.Sales of Christian books, Bibles and books on prophecy are on an upswing that began soon after the terrorist attacks last month. And, according to The Daytona Beach, Fla., News-Journal, industry leaders are saying the surge is expected to continue through Christmas. Cris Doornbos, a Zondervan publishing house executive, said, "They certainly turn to religion because they believe it is something of a bedrock." A Christian bookstore sales clerk said, "Worried parents are coming in to buy Bibles because they are trying to get their children something to stand on." A mother, buying a Bible for her college-age son, said, "I guess this makes you stop and think." Bible sales are up between 27 and 30 percent, according to Berean and Family Christian Stores. "Books on prophesy were hardly selling prior to Sept. 15, and now, sales are up 80 percent." The manager of another Christian bookstore, Books-A-Million, remarks that "customers are asking for anything to do with end times." Already in demand, the "Left Behind" series by Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye has gained in popularity. "People are unsettled and unsure, and they want to know how events like this play in the bigger picture," said a Warner Books executive. "They turn to authors who can interpret scripture and prophecy to find ssome kind of comfort and explanation." http://www.news-journalonline.com/2001/Oct/3/FLA9.htm

Happy Birthday Ed! Daryl, That's exactly it. We are in the Omega of Apostasy. Sunday worship is just around the corner for God's church, and persecution for those who refuse as well. Maranatha!!!

I wonder how the book sales in our ABC stores are doing? I am happy to see that our church is using this as an opportunity to do a great work in New York City. As you probably already know, we took up a NAD wide special offering for the work that needs to be done there. They have a $1,000,000.00 goal. It's too bad that our Ignite Canada event wasn't this Fall instead of next Fall, however, we should nevertheless use and create every means to do something now from increasing the need to awaken in our own local churches, to going and doing door-to-door surveys leading, hopefully, to some kind of Bible studies, to offering special two or three nights a week prophecy seminars. to.......... The methods are unlimited when allowing ourselves to be led by the Holy Spirit. __________________________ Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Yes, Sister Wendy, it is time for us to awaken out of our sleep. I gave a sermon on this which I believe I will post in the appropriate forum of MSDAOL. __________________________ Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. I heard on the news lately to watch out for more terrorist attacks. I also remember reading about a warning prior to September 11th that was given to a friend of one of the hijackers, reported to the authorities after the September 11th terrorist attacks, to stay away from planes on September 11th and to also stay away from malls on October 31st. Tomorrow is October 31st. __________________________ In His Love, Mercy & Grace Daryl

The one about staying away from malls on 10-31 is a hoax as I looked it up last week. There have been a lot of them going around, so checking out the stories is a good idea. Did all you Canadians know that the Canadian military is also involved in the war against the Taliban in Afganistan? quote: Chaplain Ministers to Canadian Troops in the Persian GulfOctober 29, 2001 Crosswalk.com News Channel - Lt. Commander Stephen Merriman, 47, says he wouldn't have it any other way. "I got into the military because I want to take care of soldiers," said the Free Methodist minister just days before "mustering out" with the ship, HMCS Preserver. This senior chaplain of the Canadian Navy's East Coast fleet has a daunting task - he's responsible for the morale of thousands of Canadian troops involved in the U.S.-led military action in the Persian Gulf, as reported in the Canadian Christian newspaper, "Christian Week." Merriman knows many Canadian Christians and peace activists have concerns about Canada's involvement in this military campaign. He agrees that war is not always the answer, and that there is a time and a place for diplomacy. "However," he says, "if every avenue of dialogue and debate is exhausted, there is sometimes the need for more radical intervention. ... We're not dealing with rational people who want to talk things through. There are no possibilities of ending this conflict in a peaceful way. The only way to deal with this is military action."
That makes the Americans, the British, the Japanese, and the Canadians all involved, either actively or in noncombat assistance. ------------------ Jesus is the joy of living _________________________ Linda

Those navy ships left our harbour in Halifax, NS a week or so ago to meet up with other navy vessels in the Persian Gulf. I am glad that is a hoax, although I thought I had read it on cnn.com who I thought normally checks out their sources before reporting it. __________________________ In His Love, Mercy & Grace Daryl
