Pat Robertson at it again

quote: Television evangelist Pat Robertson suggested Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine retribution for the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, which Robertson opposed.
"He was dividing God's land, and I would say, 'Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the [European Union], the United Nations or the United States of America,'" Robertson told viewers of his long-running television show, "The 700 Club."
"God says, 'This land belongs to me, and you'd better leave it alone,'" he said.

It's not too much of a stretch to think that such a person could call for death penalties for those who violate 'Sunday holiness', is it. He has espoused the cause of blue laws in the past.

I don't think he is receiving a good response saying such things at the time in which Sharon is fighting for his life.
I understand Pat Robertson apologized from an earlier incident in which he said things that the media made a big thing of in the same way the media is making a big thing out of this one.
These thiongs do set the stage for later events of these endtimes.

If he is considered to be crazy why would anyone heed his call for death penalties for Sunday sacredness violaters? He would have to have political power first, and he would probably get it because white conservative Adventists voted along with white conservative Evangelicals. Whose ox is getting gored?
Such a law would be unconstitutional anyhow.

Ahhh, how many of our American brethern do not understand the politics of their day....
Anyway, over here, I've for the death penalty for capital offences (the American term) which are safely proved by today's scientific testing of evidence. Moral issues don't belong there, quite clearly.
Of course a Sunday violation death sentence isn't constitutional yet. But, if such views of Israel as Robertson presents and are espoused by most of Christiandom - i.e. sacred, untouchable territory even today, then it is a logical sequence to America's lucany as prophesied.

All right, you want to get political, do you?
So, we who voted for Bush have endangered the future of Adventists? We voted for a coming death penalty because of lack of understanding of the dangers of the religious right?
what about the death penalty which has been given to over 40,000,000 innocent babies, ripped out of their mothers' wombs, because of "women's rights?"
To err on the side of the right is better than shying away from the right in fear of being associated with some of the nuts that are in it.

P.S. I think most Christians are pretty embarrassed with wath Pat Robertson says. I was just listening to a christian talk program which was talking about him. The host thought he was pretty far off on Sharon, but thought he might be partially right about his comments shortly after 9-11-2001.
He mentioned how he thought that maybe God is not protecting us since we have abandonded Him. Ellen White's comments about the burning buildings mention that they were built for man's pride and by exploiting other people.
God's wrath is something Christians, including SDAs, have a hard time understanding. Some have gone so far as tossing out the need of Christ dying for our sins, ie, Jack Provansha, Dick Winn, Graha. . . .
What do we expect old Pat to say since he believes Israel to be God's special nation still?
