Interpretation and translation are two different processes. However, the translation errors I posted above are probably the result of interpretation errors.

I disagree. In order to translate one must interpret. Not every word or phrase has an exact counterpart in another language, therefore the translator must make a judgement call on what the original says and how best to express it. Especially large differences are to be expected with languages separated by time and or culture and or language group barriers. For instance, the differences between 2005 german and 2005 english are much smaller than the difference between say 1500 russian and 2005 english or maybe 1500 english compared with 2005 english. Not many today would fully understand 1500 english if written or spoken. If 500 years within the same language can make such a difference, what would we expect of 2000+ years with fundamentally different languages?
