Tammy, what person told you Christ had pride? I'd be surprised if you could name one.

Tammy, when Jesus gave us the 10 C's He confessed that He is a "jealous" God. Normally we consider jealously to be something bad, but in the case of Jesus it means something good, right?
I once did a week of prayer titled - Abide with Pride. I used the word pride in the positive sense. I suspect sin is a distortion of something good. Not that it is the opposite of righteousness.
I am very proud of what Jesus has done for me and is doing for me. I am proud of who I am in Jesus. I love how He empowers me to be like Him. It is so, so wonderful and awesome.
Was Jesus tempted to be proud in the wrong sense? Yes, of course, He was. He was tempted in every way we are tempted. Did pride abide in Him? Yes, of course, it did. Did He ever manifest it in the wrong way? No, of course not.

Hi Tom, Here it is:
quote: Are not our problems basically self and pride and the desires that come from our fallen natures? Do we not fall most often because of the inner desires that lead us astray? If Jesus did not have any of these, could it really be true that He was tempted in all points as we are?

Forgot the reference! Sorry... That quote is from "Face to Face With the Real Gospel" by Dennis Priebe.

Tammy, Dennis didn't say Christ had pride. You know that's not what he meant. We've been through this.
Is there someone else you had in mind?
You really shouldn't keep repeating something you know isn't true.

Tom, I think it is 100% true, or I wouldn't be saying it. He says it, in plain English. You are trying to read "between the lines" so you can think he doesn't mean what he says, that is all.

I think you're being disingenuous here. You've talked to him personally. He's come up with a new edition of the book to make the meaning clear. You are intentionally ascribing to him a meaning he didn't intend. You shouldn't do that. "Cease and desist!"

For the context of this quote please refer to my last post. Any comments? Thank you.

"Did pride abide in Him?" Although I believe Christ took our fallen nature, as does MM, I wouldn't personally answer this question "yes." The reason is not because I'm thinking about this differently than MM, because I don't think I am, but because of the misimpression this could give. I know for sure that MM means that pride "abided" in Christ in the sense that there were tendencies to be proud in His flesh; nothing more than that. He does not mean that Christ ever exercized the sin of pride, nor was Christ proud in any sinful sense of the word.
MM's use of phrase here is similar to A. T. Jones, so he is in good company, although personally I steer clear of expressions like this (just because there are those who will twist the words of another, without really thinking about what the person actually means; I try to have words that resist being twisted as must as possible, although people twist them anyway. I'm just trying for a high untwistability index or HUI.)

Tom, you don't understand...there is only one quote in the book that he reworded and when we spoke with him, he himself said he fully believes what he wrote in the first edition, but thought this is a better wording. He hasn't changed his meaning at all....
I don't believe in taking people out of context or making them say things they don't mean.
