I was looking through some older posts and I came across this one. Keep in mind that it is past midnight here and I'm getting tired, but I thought this might make a nice addition here.
I have posted below a couple of verses that seem to help explain what the Glory of the Lord is, or, at least tell us what we should be glorying in! This is the basis for one of the songs our choir is singing, and they have been a blessing to me these past few months. I hope they will be to you also.
Jeremiah 9:23, 24
(NIV) 23This is what the LORD says: "Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, 24but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD.
(NLT) 23This is what the LORD says: "Let not the wise man gloat in his wisdom, or the mighty man in his might, or the rich man in his riches. 24Let them boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the LORD who is just and righteous, whose love is unfailing, and that I delight in these things. I, the LORD, have spoken!
(RSV) 23Thus says the LORD: "Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches; 24but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practice steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth; for in these things I delight, says the LORD."
